Polpette di manzo

Beef Patties with Spices

Ingredients: (Serving 4)

500 g  minced beef

2 slices whole wheat bread

80 g milk

1 onion

1 garlic clove

2 table spoons fresh flat leave parsley, chopped

3 eggs

1 tea spoon 4 spices mixture

1 tea spoon ginger, in powder

1 tea spoon paprika

1 tea spoon coriander, in powder

2 tea spoons salt

Freshly ground Pepper

100 g  flower

60 g olive oil

Directions:

Break up your slices of bread.

Add the milk and let the bread soak. Try to brake up the bread with a wooden spoon.

Squeeze the softened bread with your hands in order to drain any extra milk.

Peel your onion and garlic clove and thinly chop them.

In a large bowl, mix together the minced meet, the chopped onion and garlic, the parsley, 1 egg, all your spices, salt and Pepper.

Prepare two plates, one with the two remaining eggs, beaten, the other one with the flower.

With your hands, shape the beef patties and dip them in the eggs, make sure you cover both sides with the eggs.

Then cover the patties with the flower.

Pre-heat your oven at 200 C.

Heat the olive oil in a sauce pan. Simmer your patties over medium heat for about 5 minutes, turning them often with a Spatula.

Once the patties are nicely colored, remove them from the sauce pan, place them in a greased oven dish and finish cooking them in the oven for about 15 minutes.

Should you have any leftovers these patties are also good cold, accompanied by a nice green salad.
